With a passion to ensure that every global citizen has access to clean and affordable energy & water, John serves as an executive to Copper Labs, a venture capital green-tech startup focused on grid modernization. Via the Copper Labs platform, utilities and their customers can surface the real-time data from existing electric, water, and gas meters unlocking a host of use cases across the utility value chain. With a focus on designing processes intended to scale, John is responsible for the go to market systems and processes that span the marketing, sales, regulatory, and services functions.
John’s expertise includes improving customer engagement, maximizing the impact of Smart Grid technologies on both sides of the meter, electrification, educating utility customers on energy usage and rates, driving behavioral energy efficiency, shifting peak loads, and driving down the cost to serve energy and water customers through technology applications. Using Copper Labs’ technology, utilities are empowered to adopt dynamic customer programming in ways they never imagined (using their existing infrastructure!).
